European standard phrases catalogue "EuPhraC" (version 1.1, July 28, 2011) for establishing EU-safety data sheets

BDI is offering here the current version of the "European Phrase Catalogue EuPhraC" for safety data sheets and exposure scenarios in version 1.1 (status July 28, 2011). This catalogue has been established by the Working Group EuPhraC.

The "European Phrase Catalogue EuPhraC" is further gaininig significance with regard to REACH and CLP/GHS and is being continuously adapted to new requirements. The current version is already available in 30 languages. Actualised draft versions are made available on the bottom of this site, until the next EuPhraC version is published here.

  • BDI recommends the electronic exchange of safety data sheets between suppliers and customers in order to achieve more efficient and automated processes in companies. In this respect, xml-based formats such as e. g. EDAS are suitable (http://www.edas.org/).

  • The “ESCom Standard” in version 1.1 (ESCom: Exposure Scenario Communication) is now available on the Cefic-Website together with a user guide and standard phrases for exposure scenarios. ESComXML 1.1 is a XML-exchange format for the transfer of exposure scenarios beetween IT-systems. The work on the standard was lead by the DUCC-group (Downstream Users of Chemicals Co-ordination Group) with a broad involvement of European industries and software providers. The download is available for free after registration and acceptance of the license conditions. Furthermore, some 800 standard phrases for exposure scenarios are made available, which were established based on the EuPhrac-methodology and which can be used together with sector specific phrases for establishing and further pocessing of exposure scenarios.
